The announcement by the Chancellor of more spending cuts, has put even greater pressure on public finances. In response - CIPFA has developed a new advisory service which will identify practical options for savings and income generation in your organisation.

Over a two to four week period our experienced advisors will review your local authority’s costs and performance using CIPFA’s unrivalled benchmarking resources, and their expertise.

This will include comparing your local authority to other similar-sized organisations in the public and private sector, locally and nationally. We will also highlight where functions can be delivered to a higher standard than those being provided by other similar-sized organisations.

The five step review process

The review has five distinct work steps:

  1. Initial interviews and documents.
  2. Cost & income data collection.
  3. Analysis and filtering.
  4. Practical assessment.
  5. Summary report.
