New CIPFA Council unveiled

The results of elections are now in for eleven positions on the governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) for 2013/14.

The successful candidates include Carolyn Williamson, from Hampshire County Council, and Jayne Stephenson, from Trafford Borough Council, neither of whom have sat on CIPFA Council before. Eight of the candidates have been re-elected and one, Anna Klonowski, has returned after last being on the Council in 2008/09.

The newly elected Council will join the new President and Vice President, Jaki Salisbury and Mike Owen, who will take up their roles at the CIPFA AGM on 9 July at the CIPFA Annual Conference. Ian Perkin continues as Hon Treasurer and Sir Tony Redmond will sit on the Council as the immediate Past President. Additional co-options are still to be confirmed by the elected Council members.
