The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accounting (CIPFA) have announced a new training partnership with training tuition provider, BHBi. The partnership will offer a fast track route for both CIPFA and Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors professional qualifications.
The new course is designed to equip public sector professionals with the training and expertise they need after the adoption of the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards (PSIAS) across the whole of the public sector last year.
CIPFA’s Adrian Pulham, Director of Education & Membership, commented:
“There is a growing demand for organisations and their staff to have specialist knowledge in both auditing and public financial management in line with PSIAS.
“This new service will give organisations the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge they need, while individuals can advance their career and equip themselves to operate within these new standards.”
The partnership with BHBi will give CIPFA members the option to attain Chartered Internal Auditor status – and Chartered Manager status through BHBi`s unique triple qualification training programme.
BHBi`s Managing Director, Mark Barnes, said:
“This is a great opportunity for both CMIIA and CPFA qualified members to enhance their professional standing by the achievement of further specialist qualifications relevant to their professions. The fast track routes offer a significant opportunity for members of either profession to show their commitment to excellence in both the internal auditing and financial management of their organisations”
Notes to editors
CIPFA members with relevant internal audit experience can become a Chartered Internal Auditor (CMI) by taking only three papers. IIA members can sit two and a half CIPFA papers and become fully qualified as a chartered accountant with the designated CPFA letters.
CIPFA’s fast track route will be available with courses at BHBi throughout the year.
These fast track courses will be available through BHBi in 2014 in their Cardiff and London training centres:
