CIPFA’s independent reviews follow a methodical process to provide evidence-based recommendations and an action plan for improvement. The subject review can help to find duplication of systems and process to identify cost savings.
Our reviews incorporate:
- Review of closedown timetable and critical paths;
- Monitoring of timetable (when/who/how);
- Systems used (automation v manual);
- Processes carried out during the year;
- Identification of staff involved and associated skills/knowledge;
- Engagement with appropriate staff; and
- Review of best practice.
Evidence, upon which the final report and recommendations are based, is gained through one to one interviews with central/ devolved finance, and non-finance budget holders using a set template of questions for each category, and document review.
