Summary:

Stuart Fair is a graduate of the University of Strathclyde Law School and is a member of the CIPFA and senior consultant with extensive experience of accounting, audit, financial management, governance and public law. Since joining CIPFA in 2005 he has led on complex financial management and governance assignments throughout the UK and overseas.

Biography:

Stuart leads CIPFA’s work in setting the global standard on financial management capability for public bodies and has been retained to assess the strength of financial management within HM Treasury, Ministry of Defence, Cabinet Office as well as the Home Office, Health, FCO, Ministry of Justice, most of the large UK Departments of State and related agencies.

Stuart is an adviser to the Government of New South Wales Treasury, States of Jersey and Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority. In 2007 he was appointed by the Scottish Government as the financial expert panel member of the Independent Scrutiny Panel by the deputy first minister of Scotland. From 2003 he has been a tutor in Law at the University of Strathclyde Law School tutoring tax law, public law, commercial law, contract law, delict and administrative law. 

He currently serves on the Law Society of Scotland’s Regulatory Committee and the Advisory Council of the Judicial Institute for Scotland.
