International seminar This year’s CIPFA conference will showcase CIPFA’s international strategy with a special ‘International Seminar’ taking place on Tuesday 17th June at the Hilton Brighton Metropole from 1.30-3.30pm. There is an unprecedented appetite to understand why, despite reported improvements in public financial management, progress has been slower than expected and the desired improvements in governance remain elusive. CIPFA is leading new thinking into how public sector professionals with key roles in international standard setting and ethical practice, as well as in grass roots capacity development, can play a more effective role. With invited international colleagues and strategic partners this session will explore current challenges and provide the opportunity for delegates to contribute their experience to the advancement of public financial management globally. Chaired by Clive Grace, Chair of CIPFA’s International Strategy Panel, the speakers include: Tony Hegarty, Chief Financial Managmement Officer, World Bank ATTENDANCE IS FREE BUT YOU NEED TO REGISTER YOUR DETAILS with margot.gallie@cipfa.org For more information on the CIPFA Conference, visit www.cipfa.org.uk/conference/index.cfm |
CIPFA encourages an international membership, but unlike commercially oriented accountancy bodies, it recognises that each public sector is unique and therefore common approaches to professional education are more difficult to achieve. This is why CIPFA has developed a specialist education and training programme capable of adaptation to local circumstances.
The Institute is the only specialist public sector accountancy body which is a member of the International Federation of Accountants. CIPFA therefore would be pleased to provide support, through twinning or other arrangements, to organisations in other countries which have similar interests to CIPFA and which might either wish to join IFAC or would like to develop their own public sector specialist interests.
CIPFA has worked in the UK and abroad with public service officials from the following countries:
|
Africa
Middle East
|
Central and Eastern Europe
|
Asia
