CIPFA chief executive debates local government spending

Local authorities are preparing to make sustainNews articleed cuts at levels not previously experienced, said CIPFA’s Chief Executive Steve Freer this week. Speaking in an interview on Radio 4, Steve said that the full picture would not be known until after the forthcoming general election.

Local government funding seminar 2009
In light of current debates on future public spending, CIPFA's annual seminar on local government funding will go beyond discussing the 2010/11 annual settlement to exploring the implications of the latest funding projections for local public services.

Book now for this 10 December event featuring the LSE's Tony Travers, Carl Emmerson from the Institute of Fiscal Studies, and Lindsay Bell, Acting Director of Local Government Finance from the Department for Communities and Local Government.
