CIPFA chief executive debates local government spending
Local authorities are preparing to make sustain ed cuts at levels not previously experienced, said CIPFA’s Chief Executive Steve Freer this week. Speaking in an interview on Radio 4, Steve said that the full picture would not be known until after the forthcoming general election.

Local government funding seminar 2009
In light of current debates on future public spending, CIPFA's annual seminar on local government funding will go beyond discussing the 2010/11 annual settlement to exploring the implications of the latest funding projections for local public services.
