CIPFA unveils essential new codes
Autumn 2009 sees the publication of a number of essential codes of practice and accompanying guidance notes which will be of key importance to local authorities and public service organisations in undertaking effective financial reporting and operation of the treasury management function.
The codes and guidance notes incorporate updates as a result of the move to IFRS for the local authority sector. They will also help ensure appropriate controls and safeguards are in place in order to check organisation's treasury management and borrowing activities are undertaken according to the necessary standards.

Implementing CRC
As the Department for Energy and Climate Change has now reported from its consultation on the draft order to implement the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), CIPFA has revised its guidance on this important new piece if legislation. The briefing paper is available here. |
