Steve Mungavin
Steve has worked for CIPFA for nearly ten years and was appointed Head of CIPFA Northern Ireland in July 2011. Prior to joining CIPFA, Steve worked at the University of Ulster where he was Assistant Director of the Management Institute. Steve’s first career after graduating from the University of Stirling was in Local Government, where he worked for a number of councils in Scotland and England.
As Head of CIPFA Northern Ireland, Steve’s main focus is on developing CIPFA’s policy agenda; building finance and governance opportunities in training, audit and consultancy; and providing services to CIPFA members including technical support, managing the local CIPFA office and strengthening relationships with external stakeholders in the public finance community.

Alan Bermingham is a Principal Consultant with CIPFA Northern Ireland and has been responsible for the management and delivery of our IFRS training programme for Central Government and Health in partnership with PwC. Alan also delivers a number of modules on the CIPFA professional qualification and the Diploma in Public Audit. He was previously Director of Finance for a Northern Ireland based Housing Association and has lectured on the CIMA professional qualification at Belfast Metropolitan College. Alan is qualified with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and holds the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland’s Diploma in IFRS.

Colin Langford joined CIPFA Northern Ireland in January 2010 as a Principal Consultant. He is responsible for the delivery of the academic programmes offered in CIPFA Northern Ireland as well as developing and delivering a range of consultancy and training offerings on governance, audit, fraud and risk management. Colin's most recent experience was a Chief Internal Auditor, where he was responsible for the full range of internal audit services to a range of clients in the Northern and Western sectors of Northern Ireland Health and Social Care. Colin has worked in a variety of financial management positions across a wide range of public sector organisations for the past 28 years as well as providing short-term international expert input to a number of overseas projects. He is a CIPFA member and a member of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors and holds a number of other training qualifications. |

Kevin Murphy has lectured in taxation, management accounting, financial accounting and business related subjects on a variety of courses for many years. He qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, and has been lecturing for the Institute for a number of years. He is a registered auditor and has his own chartered accountancy practice. Kevin is also a lecturer in the School of Accounting at the University of Ulster. As well as this he is involved in delivering modules in courses for the professional and technician accounting bodies, including ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, AAT and IATI. Kevin is the tutor for Financial Accounting and Financial Reporting at Certificate Level and Financial and Performance Reporting at Diploma Level.

Andrew Cummings joined CIPFA in August 2010 as a Senior Training Consultant. He is responsible for the delivery of a number of academic qualifications, including the AAT Accounting Qualification Level 3 and the AAT Certificate in Payroll Administration, as well as delivering public training courses and accounting consultancy services. Andrew is the author of the 2010/11 IFRS update of the popular CIPFA Cash Flow Statement Toolkit which is due to be released in January 2011. Andrew is a CIPFA qualified Accountant and his most recent experience was working in a Senior Accountant’s position at a London Borough Council. |
