The Government Finance Profession (GFP) (successor to the Government Accountancy Service)
After 25 years of supporting trainees and accountants in government, the Government Accountancy Service has been replaced by the Government Finance Profession - which, it is promised, will be "even bigger and better". The new website includes copies - old and new - of Gasette magazine online, whole sections on professional skills and the fast stream, details of current vacancies and listings for forthcoming events: http://thegfp.treasury.gov.uk/
Professional Skills for Government
The Cabinet Office has a website devoted to Professional Skills for Government. Managing Public Money
Managing Public Money (MPM) is the Treasury guide to how public funds are managed by government departments. It sets out the key principles for dealing with resources and offers detailed guidance on a range issues from fees and charges to the role of the Accounting Officer. Form October 2007 MPM replaces Government Accounting and can be found at Managing public money
National School of Government The National School of Government is not only a leading training provider of the UK public sector, but also a business school for government, devoted to finding bespoke solutions to meet the needs of clients. National Audit Office
The NAO audits the accounts of all central government departments and agencies as well as a wide range of other public bodies and reports to Parliament on the economy, efficiency and effectiveness with which they have used public money. Performance
All the Government's key performance data on public service delivery is now available on a single website. The site, launched by the Treasury in April, sets out performance against the high level Public Service Agreement (PSA) targets and allows the public to assess how the Government is delivering across all areas of government.
