About the Panel

The CIPFA Charities Panel was launched on 3 December 2003 and reports to the Public Finance and Management Board. Following the launch meeting a press release was issued. Please click here to read the statement in full.

The first Panel meeting was held on 12 February 2004 when the membership was confirmed and Terms of Reference agreed. The Panel's areas of interest and activity include:

  • Finance and policy issues relating to charities and the wider voluntary and community sector
  • Policy formulation and implementation within PFMB approved strategies and business plans
  • Responding to Government, professional bodies' and other bodies' consultation/discussion papers and exposure drafts

    The Panel meets four times a year, the most recent meeting was held on 16 December. The Panel meetings for 2009 are scheduled for 17 March, 16 June, and 15 September, each to convene at 1 pm for a 1.30 pm start at CIPFA Robert Street.
