To welcome Steve Morris, Finance Director, City of Bradford MDC, to the Steering Group as the new representative of the Society of Municipal Treasurers; and Liz Currin from HM Treasury, James Hynd from the Scottish Executive and Howard James from the National Assembly for Wales.

To approve the minutes of the meeting held on 16 October 2002. To note any matters arising not included elsewhere on the agenda.

4 UPDATE ON THE WIDER PRUDENTIAL FRAMEWORK PCSG 25 02/03

To receive an update on the wider prudential framework from:

ODPM - Pam Williams
National Assembly for Wales - Lisa James
Scottish Executive - Mary Newman
HM Treasury - Frances Houston.

5 FUTURE TIMETABLE PCSG 26 02/03

To discuss future timetable for the second exposure draft of the Prudential Code and the finalisation of the Code.

6 DRAFT PRUDENTIAL CODE PCSG 27 02/03

To consider revised draft of the second exposure draft of the Prudential Code.

7 ROAD TESTING THE DRAFT PRUDENTIAL CODE IN 2002 PCSG 28 02/03

To consider the reports from local authorities that road tested the draft Prudential Code in 2002.

8 TRAINING AND GUIDANCE
The PCSG is asked to agree to receive a report on training and guidance for the new prudential system at its next meeting.
