CIPFA Channel Islands Branch

2006 Annual General Meeting
At the Branch AGM held on 4 December 2006 the following officers were returned unopposed:

President: Ian Black
Vice President: Anne Homer
Treasurer: Christopher Bambury
Auditor: Roger Bignell

The position of Secretary is currently unfilled and the new President is considering alternative options for the provision of secretarial support. As previously agreed the future of the Branch will be reviewed again at the 2007 AGM.

Future Events
The CI Branch has been inactive for a while now. Earlier in 2006 the Branch President circulated a questionnaire to Branch members in employment in order to seek their views with regard to the future of the Branch. The results were positive with 100% of those who responded agreeing that the Branch should continue. Given the limited membership numbers and outside work commitments the President has suggested the following as a reasonable way forward:

  • 3 March 2007
Annual dinner/Presidential Visit (Members and partners) - venue to be confirmed.
  • Autumn 2007
    CPD Training Event
  • December 2007
Branch AGM to include a review of activities for 2007 and suggested way forward for 2008 and beyond.
  • The results of the questionnaire have been shared with the Chief Executive and Chair of the Board for the Regions who have endorsed the suggested way forward.

    About Us
The Branch has 30 members, the majority of whom reside in Jersey. Channel Islands members boast a wide and varied set of skills and experience with over half employed within the public sector, many holding senior posts within the States of Jersey.

We encourage attendance at as many CIPFA events as possible both within the Island and on the mainland at national events such as Conferences and Courses. We are also represented on the Board for the Regions by our current Branch President, Ian Black.
