Development Plans

Each region is required to submit, both to its membership and the Board for the Regions, a Regional Development Plan setting out its objectives for the coming year. Plans are produced according to an agreed proforma which reflects CIPFA's Development Strategy. Regional Councils are asked to have their Plans ready well ahead of the year in question so that there is ample opportunity to feed Regional Development bids into the budget-setting process. Regional Development Plans form the major agenda item at the July meeting of CIPFA's Board for the Regions.

Annual Reports

Annual Reports allow each region to report on the progress made in achieving the objectives set out in their Regional Development Plan to their membership and the Board for the Regions. Again, there is a standard format which provides a framework for regional reporting. Reports includes: statistical details of membership, meetings arranged for members, attendances and main subjects discussed; the membership of regional committees and specialist groups and their activities, a financial report and audited accounts. Annual Reports are required to be submitted to Regional AGMs by the end of the first quarter of the following year (ie 2005 reports by the beginning of April 2006). The Board for the Regions considers all Regional Annual Reports at its April meeting identifying and disseminating areas of good practice across the regions.
