Society has a new President
Martyn Kenyon, Head of Internal Audit and Risk at Wigan Council is the new President of the North West & North Wales Society. He was sworn in at the AGM at the JJB Stadium in April. Martyn's theme for the year is "Active Members make a healthy Institute" and he gave an interesting and enthusiastic presentation on the topic. North West & North Wales Society wins CIPFA award
For the second year running the Society have won one of CIPFA's prestigeous awards. At the Annual Conference for the Regions held in Dublin the Society was presented with the prize for the best Regional Events & Courses Programme. CIPFA President John Butler presented the prize to the Society's President Jeremy Valentine. Jeremy in accepting the prize said "This award is a tribute to all those members in the regional sections and groups who have worked so hard to present the members with a quality programme of events and courses".
