About the Northern Section
The Northern Area includes Cumbria, Lancashire, and parts of Manchester and Merseyside that lie north of the River Mersey dividing line.
The current Chair of the section is Ian Cosh. Ian is employed by Lancashire County Council as the Assistant Director of Finance (Corporate) and has been with that employer 22 years! (didn't anyone tell him that they don't give long service awards out anymore...)
Ian got involved in volunteering for CIPFA to promote the benefits of being a Member and has also been a P3 examiner. Ian also has an MA in Economic and Social History and does sometimes find the time to run a few marathons, watch rugby and listen to music.
