Our first profile featured honorary CIPFA Member David Bell, who talked from his Bedfordshire home about a career that has taken him from primary school Headteacher to the high profile role of HM Chief Inspector of Schools for Ofsted.

"I've even had an appearance in front of the dreaded public accounts committee. At least I was well prepared by a former permanent secretary who said "Don't try to be funny?..the PAC doesn't 'do' humour. Never a truer word was spoken!"
