Welcome to the Independent Commission on Local Government’s website

The Independent Commission on Local Government Finance was established in 2014 to examine the system of funding local government in England and bring forward recommendations on how it can be reformed to improve funding for local services and promote sustainable economic growth.

The commission was founded, and is supported, by organisations working in local government who recognise that there is a real and pressing need for reform to the system and the way that it delivers for tax payers and local communities.

The commission consists of independent commissioners, all experts in their field.

The final report from the Independent Commission on Local Government Finance has been released on 18 February 2015..
