benefits masterclass supported accommodation

Since the Government’s recent announcement that support for the housing costs of those living in Supported (Exempt) Accommodation will not be part of the Universal Credit arrangements and that local authorities (LAs) will retain the responsibilities for the provision of support with housing costs in these cases, the effective treatment of these types of claim remains important for both LAs and other accommodation providers.

This series of CIPFA Benefits and Revenue Services Benefits Masterclass events took a detailed look at these types of claim including examining how the administration and payment of such claims will be affected by the Government’s Welfare Reform programme.
