spending review 2013 a short briefing

A Short Briefing from the CIPFA Finance Advisory Network

On 26 of June, George Osborne introduced his spending round (SR) as one of “reform, growth and fairness”. Its purpose was to set out how the government intends to spend £745bn across each public policy area in 2015/16.

This SR is an addition to the comprehensive spending review (CSR) 2010 which covered the three-year period to 2014/15. This addition was necessary due to the timing of the next general election, which will fall in May of the 2015/16 financial year. The attached briefing from the CIPFA FAN provides an essential guide to the SR 2013 outcomes and implications and is intended as a guide for public finance practitioners.
