This event from the CIPFA Procurement and Commissioning Network will offer public sector organisations and practitioners clarification on the updated IR35 rules, which came into effect from 6 April 2017. The new measures are having a significant initial impact on public sector organisations that engage ‘off-payroll’ contractors – personal service companies (PSCs) and agencies supplying contractors to the public sector.
There is now an urgent need to fully understand the new obligations and correctly apply the changes to ensure the authority does not have fines and other costs imposed by HMRC. Get things wrong and it could have a disastrous impact on public sector organisations and PSCs and place an onerous burden of risk and financial taxation responsibilities on recruitment agencies.
