This workshop, held in November 2012, gave delegates a practical understanding of staff mutuals, their potential, and options regarding organisation models and structures.

The new trend for Payment by Results (PbR) commissioning and setting up staff mutuals has fast become a concern for public sector organisations. As more and more public sector bodies look to use the PbR framework, practitioners need an in-depth grounding in payment by results schemes including social impact bonds and other areas to consider when looking at developing a project designed to utilise a payment by results approach

Public sector mutuals are one of the new models of delivery that local authorities need to factor into their options appraisals now the Localism Act’s Right to Provide and Right to Challenge requirements have come into force.
