Highly influential and older than Parliament, the City of London Corporation serves the very heart of the capital. With traditions that date back centuries, but a thoroughly modern outlook, we have an amazing history and an exciting future too. Our unique remit goes beyond that of a normal local authority. It all adds up to a working environment that’s simply like no other. Join us and be part of an organisation that’s trusted, respected and financially secure.
In this key role, you’ll deputise for the Financial Services Director – a role that offers scope for career progression and the chance to influence our transformation programme. Leading a team of finance experts, you’ll be responsible for Corporate Finance, Revenues Collection, Financial Planning and Final Accounts. Together, you’ll compile the medium term financial plans, annual budgets, financial statements for the City’s funds, deliver on income targets and produce effective financial management information. You will also provide high-level strategic advice – but first you’ll need to get acquainted with our different accounting frameworks. With police and charity finances to manage, this is no ordinary finance role.
Confident and CCAB (or CIMA)-qualified, you’ll be a quick-thinking professional with a long-standing track record. You’ve worked in public sector finance and mastered local government accounting practice. Ideally, your expertise will cover police and charity matters. Experience of transformation programmes will be very important, together with the ability to drive change with sensitivity. If you also have the communication skills to advise at senior levels, join a remarkable team at the City of London Corporation.
