Sharing the gain: collaborating for cost effectiveness
Welcome to CIPFA's online resources for shared services and collaborative working.
These pages provide public sector bodies with a range of free tools and guidance for addressing the whole lifecycle of shared service projects. While aimed particularly at local public services, they should also be of interest to organisations across the public sector, as well as other bodies working in partnership with them.
The outputs are the result of a partnership between CIPFA and the Society of District Council Treasurers (SDCT), supported by the Department of Communities and the West Midlands Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership.
The main Sharing the Gain report can be downloaded here. This covers the key issues involved in making collaborative services happen, from developing a vision for change and appraising the options available, through to managing the process of implementation and setting up new delivery systems.
The Events and Networking page provides details of any forthcoming meetings related to the project’s outputs, as well as details of how to become part of the user network.
