Julia Cook, Senior Trainer, Cardiff (home based)

Julia Cook

Julia joined CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2007 and is teaching primarily at CIPFA Education and Training Centre Wales. She qualified with CIPFA in 1992 and brings a wealth of experience to her role at CIPFA Education and Training Centre after working for 17 years at Cardiff County Council in a variety of accountancy positions.

Kate Dellow, Senior Trainer

Kate Dellow

Kate joined CIPFA Education and Training Centre on in 2010 as a Trainer. Kate is a CIPFA member and a former student with CIPFA Education and Training Centre; she had previously been employed by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children as a Project Accountant. Prior to that Kate gained extensive experience of public and third sector consultancy and audit through spells working for Sector and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Matthew Pinnock, Trainer

Matthew Pinnock

Matthew joined the CIPFA Education and Training Centre as a Trainer in 2013. He is a CIPFA member and a former CETC student and teaches Management Accounting and Financial Management. Matthew has previously held various roles within Local Government finance with experience of London Borough, District and County Council levels.

Modupe Yalley, Trainer

Modupe Yalley

Modupe joined CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2012 having previously worked in the newspaper publishing industry before moving to the NHS and then most recently to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman as a Management Accountant. Modupe teaches Financial Accounting and Business Strategy for the CIPFA Professional Qualification and is on the training team for the Certificate in Financial Reporting for Academies. Modupe is a member of ACCA.

Graham Foster, Senior Trainer, Scotland (home based)

Graham Foster

Graham re-joined CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2006 after working as Development Manager in CIPFA. Prior to first joining CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2002 he had worked in a variety of positions within local government (especially in internal audit) as well as working for a private sector accountancy firm responsible for the audit of a range of public sector clients. Graham is a CIPFA member, and has previously won the National Students Forum Excellence in Education award in 2011.

Darrell Hurtt, Senior Trainer

Darrell Hurtt

Darrell joined CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 1999 from the National Audit Office. Darrell is also a CIPFA member.

Julie McDonald, Senior Trainer

Julie McDonald

Before joining CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2005, Julie gained 15 years' experience teaching accounting on a variety of higher and further education programmes for professional, postgraduate and undergraduate students. Julie taught the management accounting units on both the AAT and CIMA qualifications; finance and statistics, financial accounting and financial management at undergraduate level and supervised dissertations at the postgraduate level. Julie won the CIPFA National Students Form Excellence in Education award in 2010 and is a member of the ACCA.

Helen Brain, Senior Trainer (Birmingham based)

Helen Brain

Helen joined CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2011 as a Trainer and is based in the Birmingham office. Helen is a CIPFA member and a former student with CIPFA Education and Training Centre. She has previously worked for the Audit Commission and for KPMG LLP, gaining a wealth of external audit experience in the local government, NHS and further education sectors.

Jade Quarrell, Senior Trainer (Birmingham based)

Jade Quarrell

Jade, a CIPFA member, joined CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2003. Jade previously worked in a range of finance roles for a large local authority, including audit, financial accounting and management accounting.

Alan Wan, Trainer (Birmingham Based)

Alan Wan

Alan re-joined CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2013, having spent the previous year as an external assurance manager at the Education Funding Agency.  He is a CIPFA member and first joined CETC in 1999.  Alan has previously undertaken a variety of audit and assurance roles in central government, local government and the private sector.

Kim Woods, Senior Trainer

Kim Woods

Kim re-joined CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2008 having previously taught CIMA and AAT courses at a further education college in Surrey since February 2000. Kim is a CIMA member and a registered auditor. Kim won the CIPFA National Students Forum Excellence in Education award in 2007.

Carrie Wright, Senior Trainer, North (home based)

Carrie Wright

Carrie joined the CIPFA Education and Training Centre as a trainer in 2011, teaching primarily at our outlets in the North of England. She is a CIPFA member and a former CETC student. Carrie was previously employed by both the National Audit Office and the Audit Commission, giving her extensive experience of central government, local government and NHS external audit.

Alison Zimmer, Senior Trainer, North West (home based)

Alison Zimmer

Alison Zimmer joined CIPFA Education and Training Centre in 2010 as a Trainer, teaching primarily on the CIPFA North West courses in Liverpool and Manchester . Alison is a CIPFA member and former student with CIPFA Education and Training Centre, and was a final level CIPFA prizewinner in 2009; she had previously been employed by the Audit Commission as a Principal Auditor, gaining extensive experience of local government and NHS external audit.
