CIPFA Certificate Investigative Practice Qualification (CCIP)

Delivered by Bond Solon, the leading legal training consultancy for non-lawyers, the CIPFA Investigative Practice Qualification is aimed primarily at individuals with an investigative role who have some experience but lack any formal qualification in investigations. It is highly practical and takes a progressive skills based approach through modular training, intended to be relevant to investigators across the public sector. Students have the option to complete the modules over a time period ranging from 3 months to 18 months, depending on their organisation’s requirements.

A number of counter fraud qualifications exist, but CIPFA’s is applicable in Scotland and Northern Ireland, in addition to England and Wales and is modular in approach. The qualification has been designed in response to significant demand from the public sector.

Sandra Moss, barrister and manager of the CIPFA Better Governance Forum, said: “Counter fraud and corporate governance are now high on the agenda for local government and the public sector in general. The Audit Commission in its report ‘CPA, the Harder Test’ included key lines of enquiry concerning the internal controls of an organisation and in particular the management of counter fraud in local authorities.”

Successful students completing the course will be awarded the CIPFA Certificate in Investigative Practice (CCIP) qualification. The course is available in the spring and autumn each year in central London. It is also available on an in-house basis anywhere in the UK.
