About this event

Whether at board level, committee level, corporate management team level or at a functional level, maximising the effectiveness of meetings, making the right decisions and avoiding wasting precious time, high level skills are required by the meeting Chair.  How often do you come out of meetings confused as to exactly what has been decided, or frustrated at the overrun on time?

Whether you are an experienced and well-organised chair or if you are in a chairing role for the first time, it is always useful to understand your strengths and weaknesses when chairing meetings and where improvements can be made.

The aim of this half-day course is to provide this benchmark assessment and to identify how you can enhance your chairing skills to make meetings more effective and achieve the desired outcomes.  Within this overarching aim, the objectives of the course are to:

  • better understand roles and responsibilities of a chair
  • enable you to build better relationships within the team
  • identify your strengths and weaknesses
  • be able to handle difficult people and situations in meetings
  • simulate your skills to learn from a practical meeting.
