About this event

Bribery poses major risks for organisations, given the criminal penalties that can be levied under the UK Bribery Act 2010.

It is also an increasingly important issue internationally with governments pledging greater financial transparency and openness while also committing resources to step up the fight against global graft and corruption.

Enhance your career prospects

Completing the one-day course and assessments will cement the knowledge you gained from the City of London Police’s three-day course.

You will receive a CIPFA Certificate in Anti-Bribery and Corruption Studies, an accredited qualification from CIPFA, an internationally recognised, global authority on financial management.

You will also be able to offer your employer assurance that you have the in-depth knowledge, understanding and skills needed to manage their bribery and corruption risks.

For details on the full Certificate, download the course brochure. Note that having completed the City of London Police course, the usual vetting procedures will not apply.

To obtain the Certificate you will need to attend the one-day refresher course on 10 October and complete the following:

  • a 1,500 word reflective statement, based on reading materials we will provide
  • one 40 question, multiple-choice knowledge assessment
  • one 3,000 word course research project.

The reading materials for the reflective statement will be sent to you no later than a fortnight before the refresher course. We recommend allowing four days to complete the reading and to prepare the reflective statement.

You will undertake the multiple choice assessment during the one-day refresher course and will have six weeks to complete and submit the research project.

CIPFA membership

On successful completion of the programme, you will be awarded one year’s free CIPFA Affiliate membership, giving you access to a wealth of resources and use of the ‘CIPFA Affil’ designation.
