Learning outcomes

By the end of this course you will:

  • have an improved understanding of the way that audit committees work, and how they help to deliver the objectives of an organisation through effective internal audit and risk management
  • be able to develop the way in which the audit committee you are involved with works with internal and external audit
  • have learnt how to decode audit reports
  • have gained valuable insights into the way in which other organisations manage their audit committees and manage officer/member relationships through discussions and workshop sessions.

Anyone interested in improving the effectiveness of an audit committee. Attendees will come from across the public sector and may include audit committee members, directors, internal and external auditors, risk and performance managers, those with responsibility for delivering corporate governance and those working in democratic services.
