We are committed to providing a qualification that not only arms delegates with a range of best practice knowledge and skills, but also enables them to actively apply the learning back in the workplace in whichever sector they are based.
To gain accreditation delegates are required to submit a portfolio of evidence and a work-based project that records evidence of learning and critical analysis for each module (other than module two); how the skills development has been translated to the working environment and the development of delegates’ ability to undertake specific tasks.
Completing the qualification offers a Post-Graduate Certificate (level seven) in finance business partnering, as well as the opportunity to apply for CIPFA Affiliate membership.

It will also explore why finance business partners need to develop and use their influencing skills at senior levels to improve their own and organisational effectiveness in a changing business environment.
This workbook provides learners with an understanding of how finance business partners can promote and influence large scale, complex transformational change programmes.
Dates and locations for modules:
Launch 25 September 2018, Edinburgh
The first date on each programme will be a launch event over a lunchtime (12.15 to 13.45). This will provide delegates with the chance to get to know each other as well as some of the logistics and structure of the programme such as accessing the learning platform, pre-reading and work prior to face-to-face elements; the assessment process; and general administration.

Brendan is CIPFA’s senior leadership and development consultant, tasked with designing and delivering a number of major CIPFA programmes. He leads CIPFA’s Leadership Academy for Serving and Aspiring CFOs in the UK and for the Government of Canada. Gareth is a facilitator and coach with over 15 years of experience training across private and public sector around the world. He specialises in finance and interpersonal skills training, helping individuals and teams to improve their communication and the effectiveness of their teams and organisations. He enjoys demystifying finance and helping people to understand how financial awareness is vital for every business decision.
He has delivered finance training for non-finance professionals with a number of central and local government organisations and across a range of private sector industries. Gareth was a senior audit manager with Deloitte and brings this commercial awareness to all of his training delivery.
Sue Carruthers is an experienced trainer and coach and a chartered accountant by qualification, with nearly 25 years’ experience in training and developing people in both line management and learning and development roles.
She now specialises in working with individuals and small/medium sized groups on interpersonal and management skills but in the past has delivered complex accounting and audit technical training through both large lectures and in more experiential, smaller groups. Sue’s experience crosses both the public and private sectors.
As well as using her in depth experience of working in different organisations and at different levels, Sue draws upon a wide range of ideas including Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), solutions focus, systems thinking, accelerated learning, multiple intelligences, acting techniques and developmental psychology. She is a Certified NLP Practitioner and is MBTI qualified.
