The CIPFA Police and Fire Network is pleased to announce two half-day events on the introduction of force management statements (FMS) and their implications for annual governance statements (AGSs). We will look at the financial information required, governance issues and the timescales for gathering and reporting information in order to feed back the relevant issues, minimise duplication with the AGS and get the most out of the new arrangements.

Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) recently issued a consultation document on the Force Management Statement Template, which closes on 22 December.
These two events, within the consultation period, are aimed at identifying how we can dovetail the FMS with the chief constable’s AGS, while also identifying any issues for the PCC’s AGS. How can we get the best out of the new arrangements? What are the issues for finance departments? How can we resolve them?
There will be an opportunity for delegates to share ideas with those from other forces and we will feed back to HMICFRS on finance and governance issues raised at the events and possible solutions.
