Suspect interviews are an important part of any fraud investigation and opposing legal representatives are skilled in seeking to undermine the case against their clients by employing the ‘Active Defence’ approach to counter and disrupt investigative interviewing strategies.

This one-day training course aims to equip you with the knowledge, confidence and control to effectively manage active defence by legal advisers in the context of a suspect interview.

This course is designed for experienced counter fraud and investigation practitioners who conduct interviews with legally represented suspects.

It is also ideal for those who have completed the CIPFA Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist, Accredited Counter Fraud Technician or Certificate in Investigative Practice qualifications and wish to improve on their suspect management and evidential integrity skills.

  • understand the legal adviser’s stance and approach and dealing with this in an appropriate manner.
