About this event

Why is it that when decisions are taken regarding assets they nearly always ignore the longer term implications and repercussions for the organisation?

Have you been in a situation where your organisation has made a decision to construct a new asset or extend an existing one without fully considering the budget implications of this? Has your organisation ever relocated a service without a clear political steer on what will happen to the surplus asset, resulting in it sitting on the books for a long time costing the organisation money?

If you have found yourself in these sort of situations then what you might have been lacking was a robust business case.

With increasing demands on us to review and rationalise our asset portfolios in order to make revenue savings or generate revenue income, the potential for us to continue to make ill-informed decisions is not going to lessen.

The approach we have developed can be implemented by you whether your background is finance, property or something entirely different.
