About this event

Given the recent announcement by the Home Secretary on the financial settlement, we will focus on strategies for financial reserves. As the first force management statements are being prepared by forces before their submission date of May, we will have an update from HMICFRS on the latest information and the revised FMS template. 

We will also hear the latest on internal audit and the work of the Police Audit Group as well as the latest from CIPFA on their work with the police and fire sectors, including current consultations and publications.

Speaker - Alison Dewhirst, Police Advisor, Police Network

Alison Dewhirst

Alison has worked in and for policing for over twenty years since her first days as a researcher for City of London Police and has experienced an incredible amount of change in the sector over that time. Alison runs the CIPFA Police and Fire Network, running events and writing publications. She contributes to the CIPFA Police Panel and works closely with CIPFA policy and technical colleagues on police accounting issues.
