About this event

The workshops will provide an opportunity to consider the new approach including a longer term perspective and wider definition of investment to help formulate direction for the 2018/19 treasury management strategies.

These could be the most important treasury strategies for many years as local government manages the Brexit implications of near zero interest rates and expectations that interest rates may be lower for longer than we dare imagine?

Our workshops will provide first class speakers, tackling the most significant challenges local government treasury managers have faced in a lifetime. Remember you are not alone. No one has written a treasury management strategy in these economic circumstances, join us and find out more.

Who should attend?

This event is aimed at treasury practitioners and all those involved in managing the treasury management investment strategy within your organisation.

How will I benefit?

  • CIPFA news bulletin on the final Code consultations.
  • A practitioners perspective on preparing the strategy and what are the key areas to consider.
  • What a leading treasury adviser will be discussing with clients for this year’s strategy and how they can assist in the process.
  • Our special guest speaker will offer some thoughts on approaching ‘alternative’ investments and the importance of proper due diligence when making long term financial commitments.
  • Open forum discussion – Chatham House Rules discussion – anything goes!
