Government Guidance on Easing of Coronavirus Lockdown Restrictions published

Following the Prime Minister's statement yesterday, the government’s guidance on the phased easing of the Coronavirus restrictions was published this afternoon. Our Plan to Rebuild: The UK Government’s COVID-19 recovery strategy sets out the detail of the Government’s three step plan on easing the restrictions. It also refers to increased fines for non-compliance.

FAQs published alongside guidance

The Government has also published Coronavirus Outbreak: FAQs guidance for England, which includes the list of increased fines for non-compliance with the restrictions. The new amounts for fixed penalty notices issued for non-compliance are:

First offence £100

Second offence £200

Third offence £400

Fourth offence £800

Fifth offence £1600

Maximum penalty £3200
