CIPFA opens new Leeds training centre

The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), the leading public financial management body, is to open a dedicated training centre for the delivery of its professional qualification (CPFA) in Leeds.

The CIPFA Education and Training Centre (CETC) offers high quality face to face classroom-based tuition with consistently high pass rates. This new centre will offer CIPFA tuition from January 2011 applying CETC’s highly successful course design and delivery principles.

CETC is currently negotiating premises in the centre of the city aimed at serving students from across the public and private sectors in Yorkshire and surrounding areas.

From January 2011, students will have four options for studying for the CIPFA qualification:

  • Day release at the new Leeds CETC venue
  • Open Learning with distance tutor support with CETC
  • Block release with Kaplan Financial, the leading innovator in the delivery of training for professional qualifications
  • On-line provision with the Kaplan live on-line system

Existing CIPFA students in the area, including those currently studying at Leeds Metropolitan University, will be able to continue their studies through one of these options, and the course programme at CETC Leeds will feature those modules that would have been offered by Leeds Metropolitan University.

Giles Orr, Head of the CIPFA Education and Training Centre said:
‘I’m very excited that Leeds will be having its own dedicated CETC centre. Students in Yorkshire and the North will now have even better access to the leading public finance qualification.’
