The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) is delighted to announce that it has been confirmed as the first official media partner for the XIX World Congress of Accountants (WCOA).
The partnership between WCOA 2014 and CIPFA will ensure extensive media coverage of the Congress among the global public sector audience.
CIPFA is dedicated to public finance and a world leader in good public financial management, representing thousands of top level accountants, governmental officials, academics and policy makers from the public sector in the UK and around the world.
The next WCOA, to be held in Rome in November 2014, is titled 2020 Vision: Learning from the Past, Building the Future. It will give the global accountancy profession an opportunity to share a vision for the future of accountancy and discuss innovative ideas and practice in the field of accountancy and finance.
Speaking on the announcement, CIPFA CEO Rob Whiteman said:

The World Congress of Accountants is an IFAC event that takes place every four years. Thousands of accountants, governmental officials, academics, policy makers, and top-level representatives from the global business community from all over the world will gather in Rome to share their vision and information on the latest topics in the field of accountancy practices and related issues.
WCOA 2014 is being hosted by the Consiglio Nazionale dei Dottori Commercialisti e degli Esperti Contabil (CNDCEC) and will take place at the Auditorium Parco della Musica from 10-13 November in Rome.
CNDCEC represents the accountancy profession in Italy. It is a public entity regulated by law, under the supervision of the Ministry of Justice. CNDCEC is one of the founding members of IFAC (International Federation of Accountants) and FEE (Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens).
The main fields of activity of the Italian accountancy profession are: accounting, taxation, auditing, corporate governance, management consulting and insolvency.
The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) is the global organization for the accountancy profession, dedicated to serving the public interest by strengthening the profession and contributing to the development of strong international economies. It is comprised of 179 members and associates in 130 countries and jurisdictions, representing approximately 2.5 million accountants in public practice, education, government service, industry, and commerce.
