The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) today announced that it has won a contract with the NHS Leadership Academy to be the exclusive provider of tuition services for the finance management stream of the NHS Graduate Scheme.
The contract will see CIPFA delivering a blend of classroom, face-to-face and online learning for participants in the NHS Graduate Scheme in a partnership led by CIPFA’s education and training centre and its established training suppliers.
The contract begins in September 2014 and will initially run for two years, with the graduates on the scheme expected to become fully qualified CIPFA accountants as part of their training.
Rob Whiteman, CEO of CIPFA said:
"We are delighted to be supporting the NHS in equipping its future finance leaders. CIPFA's reputation as the gold standard accountancy qualification for financial management and audit in public services is built on working tirelessly to support our students and members through their successful studies and careers.
"As the NHS faces demographic and budget pressures over the next decade, it is vital that finance staff have the first class skills and knowledge they need. CIPFA looks forward to working with the NHS and health bodies across England to provide this expertise and to help in shaping the next generation of leaders in the NHS."
