The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) has been confirmed as the first official global media partner for the African Congress of Accountants (ACOA). The agreement with ACOA will ensure that the 2015 Congress receives extensive media coverage with the global public sector audience.
The Congress, to be held in Mauritius during 12 to 14 May 2015, will bring together African and international public and private sectors in Mauritius for the 3rd Africa Congress of Accountants. Through the Conference, seminars and workshops leaders from the accountancy and finance sectors, including policy makers and standard setters, will discuss issues affecting the profession in Africa.
Speaking on the announcement, CIPFA CEO Rob Whiteman said:
“I would like to thank the organising committee for confirming CIPFA as the first global media partner for ACOA. It is very welcome news that we will be so closely involved with such an important event in the global accountancy calendar. We look forward to addressing the issues confronting the profession in Africa together.
“CIPFA is the only global accountancy institute dedicated to public finance and a world leader in good public financial management, so we are delighted that we will able to use this as a platform to reach out to a large international audience to champion that cause during a time of enormous challenge and reform in Africa and around the world.”
CIPFA, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, is the professional body for people in public finance. Our 14,000 members work throughout the public services, in national audit agencies, in major accountancy firms, and in other bodies where public money needs to be effectively and efficiently managed. As the world’s only professional accountancy body to specialise in public services. We champion high performance in public services, translating our experience and insight into clear advice and practical services. Globally, CIPFA shows the way in public finance by standing up for sound public financial management and good governance. We work with donors, partner governments, accountancy bodies and the public sector around the world to advance public finance and support better public services.
