“At 10% of GDP, the UK has one of the lowest levels of spending on health and social care among the developed nations. This is insufficient to maintain the current level of services.
“To enable longer term planning, funding for health and social care should be linked to a proportion of GDP which improves the ability to deliver effective services into the future.
