CIPFA, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, is pleased to announce that Lindie Engelbrecht, former executive director at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), has joined the Institute as managing director of education and membership.
Lindie joins the team with extensive experience of membership growth and customer service within member organisations, and with a history of working in the accounting industry. In addition, she will bring her broad knowledge and insight on advising, consulting and presenting to boards and audit committees in the public sector.
Speaking on the appointment, Rob Whiteman, CIPFA CEO, said: “We are delighted to have Lindie with us to drive CIPFA’s mission to provide the most effective support for finance professionals working across the public sector and to promulgate excellent public financial management by strengthening and growing its membership reach.
“Lindie’s experience, commitment and knowledge of the public sector, means she is superbly placed to take on this role. A key focus area for CIPFA’s education team will be the Institute’s lifelong learning offerings and a review of the current curriculum, Lindie will be a tremendous asset in helping us complete this.”
