We advanced a small amount of money to a charity this year and was supposed to be payable within 6 month. This is to help with our service provision. We have now been notified that the charity has gone into liquidation and there is no way we will be able to recover the money.
Advice would be greatly appreciation on how to treat the write off (whether this is a straight forward write off to the service or as a financial instrument).

We'd just write off to the relevant service area especially as it was related to service provision in the first place.
