Jonathan Rao

Jonathan is a higher degree graduate (M Phil, MA (Ed), PGCE, MCIPD, ACIS, FRGS. Dip in Socio-Legal Studies) with advanced training in legal, economic, education and financial disciplines. He is a part-time lecturer in higher education. Jonathan has a rich background serving on statutory judicial and medical tribunals (social security appeal tribunals, child support appeal tribunals, disability appeal tribunals and employment tribunals) and administrative tribunals (CIMA, CIPFA and the Bar Council). He has also served as a member of the Healthcare Commission and as a member of the Post Graduate Medical Education and Training Board.

In the 1980s Jonathan served as a Magistrate and Justice of Peace, and between 1995 and 2000 he served as a senior advisor to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) based in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. In his early career, Jonathan served in the Royal Air Force. He is a Churchill Fellow and author of four books.
