Tim Smith – chair of the Investigations Committee

Tim Smith is a solicitor, having previously been a partner with a law firm from 2006 to May 2016. He has a particular specialism in health related regulatory and employment law issues. He has sat as a legal advisor to various disciplinary panel meetings and acts as an advocate in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal. Tim has been appointed as a Fee Paying Employment Tribunal Judge since 2010, a legal chair of the Police Misconduct Panel for Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. Tim sits as a fee paid Immigration Judge and legal Chair for the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service. Tim is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and is the chair of Project North East Ltd (and its subsidiaries), a company that assists people and organisations in the UK and abroad to start up or expand their businesses.
