Advertisement for Chair of CIPFA/LASAAC Code Board
The CIPFA/LASAAC Code Board is the accounting standard setting body for local government in the United Kingdom. The work of the Board ensures that the Code of Practice on Local Authority Accounting provides local authorities with an IFRS-based framework that ensures that financial statements are prepared to the highest global standards.
Its clear vision is for local authority financial statements to be widely recognised an exemplar for clear reporting of financial performance and that users should be able to access the information they want to help them to understand the finances of an authority and to take practical and informed decisions.
That vision is supported by a strategic plan and the Board is now seeking to appoint a Chair for a three year (renewable) term. As well as chairing three meetings annually of CIPFA/LASAAC, the Chair will work closely with CIPFA’s professional secretariat and will be expected to attend the Financial Reporting Advisory Board (FRAB). To be the successful candidate you will be a technically proficient public sector accountant and strategic thinker who is passionate about public sector financial reporting. It is likely that you will have a public service profile and you will engage regularly with senior representatives of the profession and with government.
Please see the person specification for further details.
If you think that you could be the ideal candidate, send your brief letter of application together with your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 15 July 2019. Thereafter, successful candidates will be invited for interview in the week beginning 22 or 29 July 2019.
