CIPFA Exams

CIPFA runs four exam sessions a year to accommodate the needs of our growing Student Network. Students can sit their exams at home or work with the aid of an online invigilator. For further information on sitting your exam with CIPFA, including exam dates, booking deadlines and applying for reasonable adjustments or extenuating circumstances, please follow the guidance outlined below.

March 2024 exams session

All exams including the Project Report will be run through the ROGO e-assessment platform.

As of the March 2024 exams, local invigilation will no longer be a standard option for all students. Local invigilation will only be available for students in pre-approved exam centres (ATPs) or for students approved via the reasonable adjustment and extenuating circumstances process. Please review the policy on CIPFA’s website. Extenuating circumstances has been provided as a route for non-disabled students that may not have learning needs but have needs that would affect their performance in their assessment.

What are online (remote) exams?

We deliver our exams and practice using an online assessment platform called Rogo.

Students can sit their exams at home, or their place of work, and are invigilated remotely by an online proctor.

How are local exams invigilated?

As of the September 2023 exams, local invigilation will no longer be a standard option for all students. Local invigilation will only be available for students in pre-approved exam centres (ATPs) or for students approved via the reasonable adjustment and extenuating circumstances process.

How do I practice?

Practice is the key to exam success. At CIPFA we give our students a unique opportunity to hone your exam skills by using our LIVE exam system with practice tests of exam standard questions.

CIPFA does not publish past exam papers.
