Urgent alert: online extortion demand affecting UK businesses

The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau and the City of London Police issued a joint statement on 29 April warning UK businesses of demands being made by a group calling themselves ‘Lizard Squad’.

The group is demanding payment and threatening to launch a Denial of Service attack if demands are not met within a certain time frame.

The alert is based on a number of reports made to Action Fraud and includes advice on how to respond if you are affected and tips for protecting your organisation.
