Local authorities and schools in the UK now regularly face challenges in terms of their ability to control and manage what goes on in buildings that they own. They also have legal responsibility for buildings which are used by staff or clients.
CIPFA offers local authorities and schools support in helping the monitoring of their estate. In January 2020 we published free guidance via publications that help local authorities and schools to understand areas where compliance monitoring is required to ensure that buildings under their control comply with statutory and regulatory standards.
