Responding to COVID-19: insight, support and guidance

Corporate and Financial Planning Manager

Basingstoke, permanent, full time, £46,662-50,747 plus car allowance of £2,520

Closing date: 20 June 2022

CIPFA-Penna are working with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to recruit a Corporate and Financial Planning Manager on a permanent, full-time basis. The role involves helping with the implementation of the council's new business partnering model for finance and leading the new team in providing business partnering support.

Having invested well over the long-term, they are one of the most financially resilient councils in the country, despite the impacts of COVID-19. The council has set a two-year balanced budget for 2022/23 and 2023/24 that includes significant investment in our front-line services and an ongoing large capital programme.

At a time when people in our community are likely to face economic hardship owing to the impacts of the pandemic, they need people in key roles who aren't just good at financial management and financial planning but also have real entrepreneurial flair and innovative ideas to get the very best value. They have high performing services and lots of opportunities and assets that we could mobilise to bring returns to support our services and ambitious plans without adding to the burden for our council taxpayers.
